Nationals
So as most of you probably know by now, Patrick and I will be competing in the National Collegiate Racquetball tournament in Arizona April the 5-9th. Yes this means we will be missing class for a week and sitting around watching all of the great players battle it out. And maybe we will get to play a little too :) I am playing in two different divisions, singles and doubles. Singles is good because I have done that many times before but doubles on the other hand is a whole new story. My lovely partner Karisa and I have practiced a total of 2 times and both times I have ended up on the floor in the fetal position praying for my life- it is scary!!! Doubles is so much fun to play and probably more exciting to watch too because it is so fast paced and there is a lot going on the whole time. Karisa and I are planning outfits to wear so that we can match and trying to come up with a really cool handshake as well. She said that it needs to be simple but effective because we will be doing it a lot. Karisa is quite a bit taller and a lot more athletic than me so we make a good match? (yes this is a question) We have been playing good the 2 times we have practiced and I just know that we will be getting significantly better! So as for now just wish us luck in our upcoming competition and pray for us to get through this week of classes because we are all trying to cram everything in before we leave.

The Color Purple
So as some of you know my favorite person Patty Pat got me 2 tickets to the broadway musical The Color Purple for Christmas. I was so excited when I got them and I had to wait soooo long until the show! But here is how the night went down~
First he came to get me at my room and took me to the University Club for dinner. This was probably the fanciest place that I have ever eaten at, and not to mention the best food that I have ever tasted. The University Club is at the top of one of the tallest buildings on campus, and we sat right next to the huge windows that looked out over the A&M campus. This was a beautiful view and so hard to describe it with words. After the dinner we went down to the auditorium to watch the show.
Now The Color Purple is one of my favorite movies and I was expecting the musical to be just as good. It was nothing like I had expected- it was so much more. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever seen and experienced. By far one of the best days of my life so far. When the cast first came on stage I got goosebumps because they were so good. I am having a hard time trying to explain how wonderful it was. The entire time I was glued to what was happening on stage and just waiting for the next scene to happen and never wanting it to end.
When the show was over I didn't want to leave, I wanted to stay and watch it over and over. This was definitely something that I am so lucky to have seen and so grateful for Patrick, because he gave me that gift. Thank you Pat!

REAL MEN GROW MUSTACHES!!!
So the other day patrick and i decided that we were bored. This was your average college boredom with only 1 solution- mustaches. For those of you who don't know patrick very well, he is very nice and easily persuadable by myself- it only takes a millisecond of puppy dog eyes for him to do almost anything I ask. Now don't get me wrong, i know that i have this power and i seldom abuse it :) but i did ask very politely if i could draw a mustache on his face. He said yes! So i got out the pen and started drawing and behold! Patrick had a really thin stringy mustache!!! Then we went to the commons to grab some food. We just got the dinner and came back to my room, but he got several compliments while we were out. Then it was time to do it better. I got the dry erase marker out and drew it a little darker- then it was his turn to make me a mustache. I grabbed a few props and it ended up looking pretty legit. I then proceeded to make a nice curly stache for him. These are the pictures of our night, enjoy!

The First Blog.
Very inventive title i know, but after all, this is the first blog since we last blogged.
I would like to start out with a little story of what happened in my room, Dunn 139 last night. I was perfectly content reading for my history class when all of a sudden i started to hic-up. You have to understand that these were not just your couple of hic-ups and you're done kind, they were extreme i would say. Patrick was in my room as well as my suite-mate Samie.
The next thing I know Pat is whispering to her and then comes over to me, jumps, waves his hands, and yells "BOO"- since you know Pat, you know he is not very scary so it didn't work, i still had the hic-ups. Then Samie and Patrick were whispering again, plotting and making plans against the hic-ups (I didn't really care that I had them because I knew that they would soon go away, but I guess that they were really bothering Pat and Samie).
Soon enough i was back to reading about John Winthrop and the Puritans Dilemma and heard some rustling around on the floor. I was on my bed, which is raised about 3 feet off of the ground, I noticed that Samie was gone. I looked down and saw that she was crawling around on the ground and then she jumped up at me and tried to scare me... with no luck. At this point the 3 of us were laughing and laughing and i was still hic-uping. After a lot of holding my breath and other remedies that didn't work patrick decided again that it was time to try and scare me.
I noticed that he was crawling around on the ground army style, but very loud- so it didn't work. Finally he went next door into Samie's room and they made a plan. I didn't know what the plan was so it was for sure going to be a surprise and hopefully scare the hic-ups out of me, but not the pee! After about 7 or 8 minutes there was a loud fury of knocking and banging on my door, and I knew that was Samie. It didn't work though. These extreme hic-ups were not going to be scared out no matter what!
That was the last thing that either of them tried and as soon as they stopped worrying about it the hic-ups were gone. After Samie and Patrick left my room and I was alone to finish reading and to go to bed I realized how wonderful my friends are- they cared so much about my hic-ups! We had so much fun and many laughs trying to get rid of them and I will not forget that night.
